Burberry interactive A/W 2010 Campaign

Burberry have just launched a new look, interactive, in-depth and a bit too in-the-grill 2010 Autumn / Winter campaign featuring an all-star and all-British cast fronted by my old mate Rosie Whiteley.

The campaign / look book / interactive James Cameron experience has been shot by nonetheless than bigwig photog Mario Testino (takes good photos) and features completely user controlled photos where which the user can select and control views of the images. The images literally come to life, with the models walking closer or away from the camera with the option of choosing the POV in a 180 degree area.

So, opinion? Rubbish. Oh don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the actual collection, but could not stand the way that technology interfered. Rather than looking at the apparel I spent most of my time trying to function the damn thing (inverted mouse), wait upon loading times, and fitting low res images to screen. Which is more important? Having potential customers look at your line, or show down the Jones's? When I'm /end rant maybe I'll consider the rest of the campaign.

Here are pictures that have nothing to do with Burberry but everything to do with Mario Testino.

I be the judge.

WAVVES - King of the Beach

A few tracks from Wavves new album 'King of the Beach'.
Their third album, continuing in the popular 'surf rock' vein that seems to be taking over airwavves recently, is abundant with lofty reverb and a trippy happy go lucky pop-punk-post-rock vibe.

Check out their steeze. In fact, I'm not going to waste any more of your time, webspace or my limited metaphors. Click the links, rip it onto tape and prep it for summer cruizez. (Then buy the album on its release guttertrash)

The Good (Ass Job), The Bad, The Brave

So I think I beat Kanye to the punch with the release of his new album 'Good Ass Job'.

I hear talk that he'll be bringing back a glimmer of his former brilliance from albums College Dropout and Late Registration and re-inserting a hip hop vibe. If not, then here are 13 songs currently running through my speakers on shuffle that will still be better than the ones he releases.

The Good (Ass Job), The Bad, The Brave

Akrobatik - Remind My Soul
Organized Konfusion - Stress
Big Daddy Kane - Ain't No Half Steppin'
Mos Def / Macy Gray - I've Committed Murder
Tribe - Phony Rappers
Big Pun - Beware
Tha Dogg Pound - Dogg Pound Gangstaz
Das EFX - If Only
Slick Rick - The Moment I Feared
Roxanne Shante - Bad Sister
RJD2 - F.H.H
Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth - Straighten It Out
Talib & Madlib - Over the Counter

IMPROV EVERYWHERE

So,
In continuing with the weeks Star Wars theme (yes two posts in quick succession will get people freaking out) I thought I'd throw up a link to a website I quite literally stumbled upon yesterday.
IMPROV EVERYWHERE is a website run by a group of guys n gals willing to do any seemingly sporadic, weird and random thing in public to effectively kill the normal puppet driven day we experience...daily. Much like the towel dance done at Bondi Beach.
Check out their website, it's epic.

More power.

A lengthy but interesting vid on Kelsey Brookes, one of the artists for RVCA.
A man who came late into his passion after doing work for the US government as a scientist tracking potential viruses. Yeah, best ever career change.
You're killing it brother.

LOBSTERINE

That old fixed chestnut

Back to the fixie debate.
Although I possess a strong dislike towards fixies, I must admit that most of it is directed at the bambi-hey  pineapple pushers that seem to congregate in stationary groups out the front of clothing boutiques or stoop-walks showing off their new accessory.
I get, I understand it...I'm not down with it.
However, I do have a lotta love for the guys and gals who actually ride them.
...and to these fellas...who represent both fixed and BMX, hard.
