Warpaint (for your ears)

I'm not going to lie to you, I have a MASSIVE crush on Warpaint.
It may have a large 'something to-do' with the fact that the LA quartet is entirely dominated with a (more than) substantial female presence, but it is also definitely in truth attributed to the fact that they have an absolutely epic sound.

The band has only released one EP to date aptly titled 'Exquisite Corpse', which has been out for far too long with nothing new, said or done. Instead of me trying really hard to think of big words, I'll let this quote sum up their one release for me
"a collection of magical psychedelia drifting over sublime moments of raw melody courtesy of the three free ethereal vocalists”
Job done.
Equipped with a rawly developed sound the songs try nothing fancy or over-the-top and come across as quite unforgiving but still emotive. This is a group with the definite ability of dragging me into the depths with them too.

Get into it, Exquisite Corpse.

...and yes, I do hear Karen O in their vocals.

Warpaint

Warpaint - Elephants
Warpaint - Billie Holiday

(any more and it'll be the whole EP)

peace nuggets.

Chitecture

Weburbanist did a piece on 'blobitechture'.
It's exceedingly interesting, so I ripped a few pics and put them up.
Check out the article.

Blobism or even Blobismus is a exceedingly organic type of architecture that exhibits profoundly soft, rounded and curved dimensions. Originating in inflatable buildings, pre-fab plastic structures and computer-assisted design exercises

They also have a rad article on Star Wars cakes...
